Be a Lifesaver: Give Blood
Every two seconds in America, a life is saved by donated blood — in fact, 4.5 million Americans are saved annually by transfusions. This treatment and care depends on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors like you. There is no substitute for blood, so the need for blood donors is constant! The best way to begin volunteering as a blood donor is to donate now, during the summer months when donations are scarce —blood donations decline by more than 30 percent in the summertime. If just an additional one percent of Americans started to give blood regularly, we would not have to be concerned about blood shortages in our country. Donating is quick and easy — it takes only 8–10 minutes to donate blood, and one blood donation can save three lives!
The oral surgeons of Oral Surgery Specialists of Oklahoma, Dr. Robert Bryan and Dr. Jeremy Goodson, have partnered with Oklahoma Blood Institute to host a Community Blood Drive to help save the lives of people in our community and around the country. Giving blood makes a huge impact because the blood supply in America depends entirely on volunteers! Be a lifesaver this summer by donating at our upcoming blood drive.
