Originally from Lafayette, Dr. Ferguson is a Louisiana native who is proud to serve his community in the Greater New Orleans area. He actively served in the U.S. Army and Louisiana Army National Guard for many years. He enlisted as a combat medic to aid his fellow soldiers and later became a Commissioned Officer. From treating soldiers to treating patients here at home, Dr. Ferguson strives to put patients at ease and make them feel comfortable, always placing their priorities and needs before anything else. He wants to get to know each patient by providing respect, honesty, and good conversation.
Dr. Ferguson attended Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. Later, he attended the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, graduating in 2000 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In 2003, he received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the LSU School of Medicine and completed his residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans in 2006. Dr. Ferguson received board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) in 2008.
Today, he serves as a part-time faculty member at the LSU School of Dentistry and supports continuing dental education by co-directing the Crescent City Study Club for area dentists and specialists. Dr. Ferguson also participates in the Delta Dental Study Club, which focuses on humanitarian efforts in the New Orleans area.
In addition to his board certification from American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), Dr. Ferguson belongs to several local, state and national organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; the American Dental Association; the Louisiana Dental Association; the New Orleans Dental Association; the Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; the American Medical Association, and many others.
Dr. Ferguson is involved with several local nonprofit organizations that support military veterans and the local law enforcement community. He is also an active member of his church. He also has a passion for health, fitness, and traveling.
