Did you know that stem cells live inside your teeth?
Stem cells are essential to life because they can repair the body and allow it to heal from illness and disease. Some cells only repair a cell of the same type. Stem cells are prolific in their regenerative capabilities because they can become any type of cell that the body needs.
Breakthroughs in stem cell technology are happening every day. The ways in which we can use stem cells are being constantly researched and improved upon. Research into stem cell treatment provides hope for various illnesses, diseases, and disorders which may not currently have a cure.
Why bank stem cells?
Banking stem cells for yourself or your child means that you have the potential to safeguard your and your loved one’s future. Although early collection of stem cells is preferred, any healthy extracted tooth has stem cells, no matter the age. However, as we get older, the more stem cells duplicate and tend to lose value, making it more difficult to heal from illness or disease. Banking stem cells at an earlier age maximizes your stem cells’ viability.
Oral Surgery Services has partnered with Stemodontics™ to make banking stem cells easy and accessible for our patients. Wisdom teeth patients are ideal candidates because third molars offer a unique opportunity to extract healthy teeth full of stem cells.
How do I get started?
It’s easy to get started with Stemodontics! When you come to our office, just say that you would like to enroll with Stemodontics before your surgical appointment. We will answer any questions that you have and help you get started with the online process.
Once Stemodontics receives your information, they will send a collection kit to our practice in advance of your procedure.
