Oral Surgery Services is proud to announce our Smiles For Veterans recipient. This program provides one veteran in Metairie, Gretna, or the Greater New Orleans area with a complimentary full-arch restoration procedure.
Carl, 63, is a veteran of the United States Navy who lives in Gretna. In his application, he wrote about difficult times in his life, including the deaths of his mother, uncle, and sister all within a year, and then having to deal with the effects of Hurricane Ike and the pandemic immediately after. In writing about his missing, broken, and decaying teeth, Carl said he loves to be around people and he just wants to show off a beautiful smile in public again. He wants to smile more and show that he is a proud, honorable veteran through his smile.
The recipient will receive a complete set of new teeth at no cost. This type of tooth replacement is called full-arch restoration, and it involves using dental implants to secure a fixed denture in one or both arches. Our experts will work closely with a restorative dentist to complete the treatment.
