What to Expect During The Surgical Procedure
On the day of your dental implant placement, we will first administer the selected form of anesthesia. Once it has taken effect, your surgeon will make an incision in the gum tissue and insert the implant post. If you are having a tooth extracted and an immediate implant placed, we will carefully extract the tooth and insert the implant into the empty tooth socket.
In some cases, bone grafting may be necessary to rebuild the jaw bone before receiving a dental implant. In cases of moderate to severe bone loss, you will undergo bone grafting treatment prior to receiving your implant. This allows more people to become suitable candidates for dental implants.
